My project will traverse the Lincoln Highway (in all its forms) in a Singing Travelogue. I plan to do concerts across the Lincoln Highway over several months. These performances would be about songs about the highway from the past, or songs that were sung in concert halls from that era. I would live in and around the highway as I make my way across the country. I then would not only write about the journey, but also write new music as well.
This “American Songline” will thus be both a book and a CD about my journey across the country.
I plan to do this journey in 2013 when the Lincoln Highway celebrates its 100 year anniversary, and you may be able to help me! I am looking for musicians, historians, performance spaces, lodging, and just anyone who has the wish to participate in project.
